Spider
With just the weekend left of our break we packed it in, a much needed garden tidying and trip to the tip, the usual house clean and tidy and then over to D and D's while BigA watched the football and joined us later. I went to big skater training on Sunday and although still not allowed to do the really fun part I'm still glad I went.
The heat and sun are bearable when you are not at work and I found the radiators on in my studio, my new school will not win any eco-friendly awards any time soon. It was nice to be back, I felt prepared and ready to meet more new classes (the yr 7 and 8 rotate each half term) although I was quickly tired this week and quite grumpy on Thursday, the contrast with my wonderful week the week before made being a work a bit of a grump making feeling when I wasn't being listened to. Although I have had some of the usual lovely interactions and some of those horrid ones you get being a teacher. A highlight including one of my form letting me help him with a difficult situation a low light being, once again, told to fuck off.
Monday, my usual choir evening was quite different because choir wasn't on and instead BigA'sdad and my cousin from Germany came over. She was in London for work! It was lovely to see her again and I was surprised to realised that it had been a couple of years since she had been. We resolved to try very hard for us to get to Germany soon.
I did a bit of singing with E this week but otherwise a quiet one, that was until my sister arrived yesterday and we have been talking and laughing and the rest since. We have a very full and fun weekend planned. She has done very much the lion share, I'm not sure my, "yes that sounds good", can even count as part of the planning. I'm hoping my very good veggie lasagna and shop bought cheese cake yesterday goes some way to show my joy at her and her lovely husband coming for a weekend.
The cat's worm love continues. Very disappointed that the rain has reaffirmed we really need to get the pipe sorted at the front of our house and do we had to move all the stuff when there seemed to be a little flood and consequently a massive spider took residence in that part of the house. I literally took it in a bag to Tesco - failed to flick it out when I noticed it in the bag as it jumped back in, and now she's just sitting in the hall challenging me to take her on again.
