I had a lazy weekend, my proudest part was making a really lovely macaroni cheese. I have signed up to help with the next rookie intake for skating, by which time I'll be back on skates, although probably not quite ready for contact. With my new work life balance I am happy to do a bit more for my team. The working week started just fine, too many silly little things at work that just don't make sense to me, but I remind myself it's all part of a bigger picture and with Ofsted looming the leadership team are doing that thing, where they kinda panic and pretend they aren't and the pressure  just flows down. I see my job as not letting it impact the students and doing my best to calm others.

Of course it was mum's birthday this week and we had a lovely call on Wednesday where she opened (well scratched open) her gift which was a trip to Paris with J and me. She looked very happy about it. Phew.

Thursday was an easy day despite teaching a 5 period day. I had a few funny interactions with students, which really make the time pass well. Children say really odd things and I laughed out loud almost as much as I had to raise my voice  this week. I did all I needed to and I headed home in time for a chat with BigA - a quick application for a job and then a Governor's meeting. A sensible night's sleep and ready to get up and prepped to head to Norfolk to see my family, including A for Mum's party today. I told my p5 class how excited I was to be seeing my family and of course I was thrilled Ayla made the long trek to Norfolk from uni.  Although BigA had to drive back to Norwich to get her because the one from N to GY was cancelled. Saw my cousin and her baby and an uncle and aunt too. Really lovely to have a positive reason for everyone to catch up.

I've woken up in my bit of Norfolk. Ready for a day of celebration and very likely too much booze. Can't tell you what I'm going down the high street to get in a bit.
