pat blast - July 2021

The move went well, it felt very intense but we're in and the house is slowly feeling more like our place. It won't quite feel like home for a while but BIgA has been busy putting up mirrors and sorting things so it already feels more like our place than it did on Wednesday when we moved. When you don't choose your home I think that's what is to be expected, and A pointed out that she's never been and to choose.

She was a superstar this week, she didn't want to move and she hated her room to start with, but she saw her counsellor on Thursday morning and came back with a really positive attitude, put lots of her art on the walls and collected various colour sample strips for the paint.

She's been helping BIgA with a few DIY jobs too. Proving to be as practical as her dad. He's much more patient with her than I remember my dad being. In fact I used to hide away whenever he attempted any DIY, it was one of the few times he swore.

The cat is going to the BSPCA to be looked after for a bit, while we're away. And we're getting another cat when we return. A family we knew well have moved on and couldn't find a home that they felt was suitable. It's going to be interesting to introduce them to each other.

Our purple sofa should be delivered today. I'm very pleased not to have the ugly beige one that we had at the other house.

The garden is massive and was so dry when we got here, our water bill will be sky high but will be with it too see the green return and get the vegetable patch going. Lau has lots to do now. I think he's quite excited by the project.
It has a lemon and orange tree that seem to bare fruit, looking sad, but I'm sure that's lack of water.

All in all is a nice place to live and after we sort out some of the little things it's going to be really very lovely. Spare bedroom too, so we'll be in the look out for a sofa bed.

So all in all a nice week, I've been to the gym a few times and we've seen friends for tea and meals out.

The rouge Wagner's made it back, now all reunited and having a holiday together in Ireland. I miss them already, and it is a shame that with our move they would have been even closer.

To be sensible we got covid tests done yesterday, so if we're all clear we'll be off on our the week road trip tomorrow.
