Although I enjoy spending time discovering new places it is nice waking up in your own bed and putting on a warm dressing gown on a Saturday morning. I did a few chores and then set about getting a few admin things done while Asher hastily put together a costume for his Frisbee party later that day. I got ready for a Roller Derby event, oddly nervous about it. I was greeted by friendly faces, some who knew why I hadn't been for a while and I was put to work setting things up. Got a few other jobs, and watched the games and spoke to a few people. As much as I love it, I haven't yet felt I'm really part of it all. Maybe because I'm just not that great at it. I can return and try again in a couple of months. I headed home to find Asher making his second costume of the day. He's very good, it must be more his determination that A has been inspired by. As he headed off I watched a bit of TV - more exhausted from the day than I had anticipated.
I used Sunday to read, get lessons where I want them and wonder at the half term ahead, a bit of ironing and other mundane life stuff and I enjoyed it. Made a pretty good soup too.
My working week was a good one overall. I had a little of the return to work nerves but less so than other weeks. On fireworks night, after doing a supermarket shop I got in, put all that away and headed over to the park to see the Antwerp's display. BigA was a marshall. It was a great display and I found myself actually making ooh sounds. D and D came too and we had a little catch up before I took myself home to rest. I was knackered.
I had a lovely catch up on Thursday evening with lovely J and then a night in no booze despite it being the start of my weekend. Yesterday was then quite busy with therapy and eye tests and a bit of shopping stuff. Trying to sort some contract stuff for a potential coaching thing and then TV and a blanket.
All in all a simple week and I am happy about that.
