VHL warrior
Saturday began with BigA bringing me a cup of tea and then he set off to get sealant for the bath which he then spent the best part of the morning sorting and then he headed to see his mum with his brother. I pottered about the garden and enjoyed the sun. Sunday was more full on, with skating, singing and a party. The party was so much fun, I danced quite a lot, mindful of the luxury of moving your body with abandon. I used to worry about what I looked like, but who actually cares?
Then a Bank holiday, grey and a bit uninspiring but I did a short workout and made food and lounged about doing a jigsaw while watching a film and then off to choir which was still on despite the holiday, we had all missed it so much over the Easter break.
The girls are mainly using their time to revise, A had her art exam this week so she now only has 3 written exams to go, poor M has 6. They both seem to be coping well enough and went to school dressed as a soldier and clown for the last day. Not a tradition I've ever known, but they are now officially on study leave.
Another short work week, just 3 days officially and I could certainly get used to that. Although I did pop in on Friday for the yr 12 exam but it was only for a couple of hours. We decided on the school show this week and I'm looking forward to being involved in a production again. The students were a mix of slightly better and grotty, so much low level stuff that I felt like I was a sheep dog moving around the room and repeating myself so much I did have to raise my voice and be very disappointed on many occasions.
I had my first online Governors meeting as a Governor. Much easier to be online and able to be home for it. The school is a really positive one and I good I can be useful.
Yesterday was quite full on in the end with going into work, seeing pals and getting bits for the garden party. I wanted to spend some time remembering my dad - strange to think that he isn't here. And of course I did, raising a glass to him and feeling happy that I had such a positive VHL warrior in my life.
The meal last night when Clare was lovely, someone who's known me for a couple of decades. We spent a lot of it laughing.
