jingle bells before cobwebs

Morni We went to the Bamber's on Saturday night to celebrate their 30 years together and 18 years of marriage. We met some of their friends - they first proper dinner party they said.  And on Sunday morning my sister and nieces popped in, they'd been to see Mean Girls the night before and so, not quite in they way back to London they came to say hi and have a cuppa and bite to eat.  M got her UCAS form in this week, she's applied to Cambridge so had to meet the early deadline. Honestly think that that's not on and no wonder some students don't have a clue about the early deadline and miss out. A remains undecided but the Oxbridge option wasn't one of them in the end.  BigA has been doing bits of DIY, getting rid of mouldy window trimmings, because this time of year and over a year back in the house we're fighting the condensation and accompanying mould around the house. The joys of adulthood. I have been planning ahead for Christmas, got us three girls adven...

time

Tomorrow marks the day I was taken into hospital and didn't come out got a month. This week is already strange but good to remember that even when all feels terrible time will work its magic and things will change.

Decking

The bliss of the weekend, they are needed aren't they. BigA and M headed off to a uni open day and after a tidy, I got ready for my COVID jab. What a difference from last year, in and out in less than 5 minutes and got the flu one while I was there. Oh man, my arms really hurt for at least 3 days. But no other symptoms so happy about that. Once home, with a steaming loaf of bread A and I munched away before she set off for work and I set about updating my supporting statement for the Head application and a few other bits and pieces for school. Quite pleased with it and the help from Joe was wonderful and welcome. That evening we headed out for a pals birthday. I dressed up, did my make up and put on heels that I admit mainly slowed me down and hurt my feet but I felt good. Then we spent the evening outside and I didn't take my coat off. So much for the dress.   Sunday was very similar, except for the jabs and going out bit. BigA managed to get a ...

No chores

A woke me with a cup of tea and not long after that we headed to the Lamda open day. Very interesting and made me want to go back to learning. I realized too that I can see how ready she is for uni. She then set off to work and I did a stint on the sofa before heading back into London for Lebanese food with Dave.  BigA has been continuing with the patio plans, having of course to work around the weather. It doesn't look any where near finished but I know it's on it's way. And school Well - just when I thought things were starting to feel ok, things changed with the Head. It's complicated but it means things are busier and harder than I thought possible.  My wonderful little family have been great and until yesterday I hadn't even put one point on the chore chart.  Yesterday when I got home I cooked and us girls spent the evening with food and jigsaw and fun and love. The perfect end to a very hard week.
