CrossFit
Saturday started and ended in Thanet. I had an interesting day, Anna is very into CrossFit, she knew better than to get me into the actual session, but I sat on the sofa there with my earphones in listening to a political podcast while she, her man and his daughter did all sorts of physical activities that reminded me of the horror of my primary school PE lessons. The rope climb the most visceral. There was a disproportionate number of white people with dreadlocks but nice people.
Then we headed to her home and the disappointment of the British weather once again. But we took a long walk to the sea, a couple of hours and ending up in her local. They made me a lovely stake dinner and then the next morning I set off home to spend some time with A, my garden and later that evening my cousin Cameron.
A finished with her boyfriend as they arrived back in London having been to Leeds together to look at the university there. She made her mind up about him and the uni in one day. Sounds to me like they were both very mature about it.
This week BigA has been away for quite a bit of it delivering training and some frisbee stuff. I've missed him being here, it didn't happen very often in Malawi and getting used to this again has been interesting.
The girls continue to make the most of school and life, they are looking at more volunteering experiences and will have work experience soon.
My working week has been broadly fine, we almost definitely have an interim Head, called Sean. And knowing this is helpful but knowing the day rate every time we'll want to ask him to come in before the start of September is a strange feeling. Given that we are in a deficit budget it doesn't really sit well with me. I also know that if we don't get some decent time strategically planning then we won't be able to make a flying start in the new academic year.
Last night BigA and I went out for a pals surprise birthday meal. A lovely evening. Slightly thick head now though.
