Camden to Leeds

The girls and I had decided to head into Camden on Saturday in search of something we had seen on Instagram. So it would seem, had quite a few other people so we avoided the extremely long queue and went to a totally different place. It was nice to get out and see that bit of London.
Sunday was lovely, warm sun and we knocked down more of the small and ugly white wall in the garden. Booked in local decorators to start on the hallway. Both projects very much long term. BigA ordered some furniture for the garden and we might be able to enjoy it beautiful flowers that are appearing as the sun tries. I can see some apples forming in the tree and the space is getting nicer to be in each week.
Monday came too fast and back on the bus I got. The timing meaning I was first in and I got some stuff done before a very full on day with two rather violent outbursts from students who needed to be restrained. The second was mostly in my office and the boy was finding all sorts of things to use as weapons. I was very close to calling the police. But the skill of the staff meant that eventually he calmed down and his dad came and got him.
The girls got their mock results - they are doing very well, although M felt a little disappointed - because she has high expectations of herself. They are talking more and more about universities. I wish I knew more.
BigA, as he does, spent time organising for the car to be fixed and ordered a new hoover having sent the one we had back - it obviously can't cope with our hair! All good while doing his paid job.
I only had 4 days at work because yesterday mum and I went to uncle Michael's funeral. It was, as these things are, a mix of lovely and sad, laughs and tears. I realise I am so very good at crying at funerals that I could become a professional mourner. I got through the responsorial Psalm, but I was quite wobbly. I sung most of the hymns, not quite managing the last one. And then the wake and the family time, the stories of old and some new ones until then unheard and untold. Mum and I had a lovely meal at the hotel and then we had a equally lovely drink with my cousin Sarah and her family, more memories shared.
And I've woken up next to my gently snoring mother and in a bit we will head down for breakfast. I didn't get to see much of Leeds but it was great to see family, despite the circumstances.
