Application

Once up, fed by my wonderful husband and dressed (managed that by myself) I set about completing the supporting statement for the Headship position at my current school.

The morning was bright and sunny and I almost put it off by heading into the garden, but I resisted this and did get on with it. I got the majority of it done and checked by an ever wonderful friend. I then did a bit of house work and house sorting and discovered another hole in the wall where next door have knocked into our house! It was at the back of my wardrobe where I had put my not rainy weather clothes so obviously hadn't seen it. I was only in that section to store a suitcase. They have at least started to fix this now. But didn't turn up when they said and didn't return to complete the job. Grrrr.

For my Saturday evening, the girls were out at a party and BigA went out to watch the rugby I stayed in, mainly because I had the beginnings of a cold. And I didn't want to make it worse by trudging in rain and being around probably other germy people. Sunday was easy going too, breakfast at a greasy spoon with the Bambers and then more supporting statement work. I found out yesterday that I didn't get shortlisted which I felt a bit disappointed by but I'm hoping it means the new Head will be excellent because they have to be 'better' than me.

Good call to take the weekend easy on my part as we had loads of staff off in the week. Work this week was busy but I feel like I'm getting some good ideas in and through. An odd HR situation and one that, like most HR issues, not going to be resolved with every one happy. It felt oddly empty many of our students are not in. Quite a bit of the lurgy going around. A few almost fights to sort out and more systems I've discovered that currently make no sense. A few online meetings and I've been able to wander around more now I'm essentially fully recovered and able to get a much clearer picture of every day life at School.

Mid week BigA had a days training and was back late we thought we'd get a cheeky Chinese for dinner as he was out, but it was shut so A and I did a longish walk to see if we could find another one - no luck and we both agreed we couldn't face using Uber eats or cooking so we settled on kebabs - which was a suitable alternative. Spent some of my evening time chatting with pals in Malawi and keeping up with their news.

Happily A and M found a Chinese on the way back from their volleyball training on Friday and at last my craving was sated. I'd had a check up and reminded I drink too much, which I know really but a lot less than my Malawi life so I am at least moving in the right direction.

So all told a very uneventful week. The most exciting part being the cats first foray into our garden.
