Merry Christmas

I woke up a little worse for wear and although the kittens were a good hangover cure, the banging next door (they are doing a massive conversion and have boshed through our wall in 2 places!) Did not help.

I vowed that that would be my last big night of drinking until I'm recovered from surgery. For the next few days I intend to get myself as healthy as possible. Reduced caffeine intake and lots of fiber. And under the orders of my mother lots of marmite. I'll aim for the walks each night too. I will of course have to consider the balance of drink and the festivities of Christmas.

A and I were planning on going to get necessary cat supplies but I wanted to double check the loft. I didn't find anything but did get another couple of boxes down. One with warm weather stuff and some old clothes that don't fit me but look incredible on A. Photos too. The happy memories and the joy of recalling it all. A and I got the cat stuff and finished off the Christmas present shopping needed. Then a lazyish afternoon, quick trip out with Joe and then beans and jacket potato.

The school week, a short one, was alright and then, it was over. A note on my CV now. But I felt very appreciated and had some lovely lessons. Lots of cards and presents too, which made me feel very special. I was thanked by a number of students and staff and told I'll be missed and through it all I know I've gained a good friend in Sarah. This week  Daren came over for tea on Monday and I met up with Uma on Wednesday so it all felt rather busy and rather lovely too. I am very happy to have these close connections with old friends. Makes me feel quite grounded. I also managed a visit to  my new school this week. Things there seems less organised than I'd hoped but given that I do love a good sort out I think my skill set will be welcomed by most. I'm of course irritated that I can't make a flying start on the 8th, but I really do hope to get in there soon to begin this new chapter. I'm going to be teaching a bit of art too.

Mum arrived on Thursday and we piled up even more presents under the tree. I am very happy that she's here. We had a meal out at San Marco, a place that holds various memories for me and her, and Jo. The food was ok. Yesterday mum accompanied me on a walk and chore day, we had a really lovely lunch with mum having the best cacik she's ever had. She met A's boyfriend now too and she actually really loves the cats despite her not being a cat person.

The kittens are very entertaining and we all love them, they are fun to be around. So far they have been enjoying the adventure of our home and having been found in a garden shed they have taken to life with us very well.

I'm hoping I'll be sending you a Saturday email next week with a little less kidney and a lot less cancer. I'm very much hoping I'm sending it from the bed I'm on now too. I'm nervous and I know, understandably not looking forward to the pain and discomfort. But I'm also reminding myself that it should be easier than the last ones, my first robotic one.

A very Merry Christmas to you
have a fab day

lots of love
Chloe
