Storage

We headed to you after the girls had done the park run and I'd nursed my slight hangover, still smiling broadly at my job news. I've already been making lists of things I need to find out and do and been enjoying the prospect of my new role.

It was lovely to be greeted in the hallway with all your smiling faces, some a little changed from the last time I'd seen them in the flesh. Gabby and Jacob are now very much adults. You know this but if course, we all enjoyed the catching up. On Sunday we took advantage of the relative closeness of a Decathlon and then went for a long walk with my dad's youngest brother and his wife. The sky was a clear sky blue, very suitable for being in my dad's old hunting ground. We even parked by the Coventry football stadium at one point. Seeing Keith was a little strange, there's so much of my dad's features in him that there was a little jolt when he came walking over. More detailed catching up, getting to know what my cousins are up to and next plans. That evening, back with the Holdsworth clan we ate warming and delicious food and played a, at times heated game of code names. A game I most associate with the Wagners. I also got to have a quick catch up with my aunty Scrag. BigA made himself useful and helped to empty their loft.

We came back on Tuesday and I had plans to catch up with people and do some NPQH work for the week, which I was mostly able to do. I had caught a cold from somewhere and so did a bit less than planned but that's the joy of a two week half term. There's next week to do more. We got a few more house things sorted, a little bit out of the loft and had to give in and put the heating on. And I happily now have storage under the bed which has freed up space for my shoes.

Yesterday, feeling a bit brighter, I saw my pal Sarah. She's definitely one of the best people in the world. We always just slip straight back into deep or silly chats. I've known her almost 30 years now and we know a lot about how silly we were when we were teenagers, clueless and perhaps a little reckless. The silly bit hasn't really changed.

So a quiet and relaxing week for all of us, perhaps least for BigA who only had 2 days off work, and not even quite that as he checked his work email on both of those days. And who set about sorting the storage issues. He's a goodun.
