Online again
A rainy morning and frustratingly the garage was shut so no car, instead we did a little bit of shopping, getting medication for the cats and me and also eggs and bread. Then I spent most of my morning putting work onto my online classrooms so that I can spend Monday helping any staff who are stuck without worrying about my lessons. Happily I don't need to worry this weekend as we are open on Tuesday.
I had the honour of being with my friend while we watched her gran's funeral. It was a full Catholic mass and we sang the hymns and said the prayers. The eulogies were, and she agrees, awful. We lost it then and just started laughing and joking. Telling each other stories of family fun. The eulogies went on so long that the other guests for the wake arrived and so we sung the last hymn together and raised a toast to Veronica. We laughed, drank and ate and A and BigA joined us too. It ended up being a really lovely evening, odd reason in some ways but good all the same.
A has been great at getting get work done and spending lots of time in her creative subjects. She gets her mock results next week. I've of course had a sneaky peek.
On Sunday, BIgA, A and M&D set off for a short safari, just staying the one night and I stayed behind to mainly get another application in and complete a unit for my NPQH. I also ensured I was as ready as a could be for work the next day, which was totally fine but felt a bit strange knowing we were all setting up online lessons. My job isn't so much in the classroom and so the week has been a mix of meetings and planning and writing of reports. Strange too, to know people have applied for my jobs - Deputy and drama teacher. No great replacements jumping out.
Wednesday we held our rescheduled training day. It went very well and I got such a buzz from seeing the teachers all chatting away about the issues and training we were doing. It's one of my most favourite parts of my job.
M&D left on Thursday and the house now feels rather empty. Well it will do, Ria, our rescued traveller from our trip in August, is staying over now.
This weekend is a long weekend, so not back to school until Tuesday and then a full on week as we have had to squeeze quite a lot from this one into that one.
