Thunder & lightening
The training went well, I was quite tired but enjoyed it. I was hoping to go home for a nap but ended up with a colleague who needed to off load. Interesting that I've heard both sides of this issue now and both women are very upset. I'm not sure how any of it will be resolved. If you really don't like each other then working together and living so close feels really unpleasant. Sad really and I can't see a quick resolution.
A and I then watched a couple of films and ate leftovers for tea. Sunday morning I sent off an expression of interest for a very different Headship to the ones I'd applied for. This one at an alternative provision. Not very good pay so I don't know if it would work even if I got it. But something about following in my dad's footsteps appealed.
We were invited to a braai and I'd made some fried onions, a guacamole and took a bit of chicken. They had made a lovely spread and went to the effort of making A some veggie burgers.
The working week felt longer than normal, lots happening and things to complete.
The main drama of the week was on Wednesday, the morning was A's assessment in drama, she and her teacher went in early and the students all did well, this was followed by a group of students, some drama ones being questioned about a very nasty bullying incident. Happily A wasn't involved. But some drama students were then suspended. As the lunch bell went the thunder clouds were gathering and once home the lightening alarm sounded, suddenly huge hail stones began to batter the house and the storm moved ever closer. A and I had already been turning off the electrical items and unplugging what we could, then as the hail and rain began to come into the house through the windows we set about closing them. A was filming the hail and as I shut a window we had a direct hit to the house. I was shocked, actually and A and I both screamed as the lights went off and I jumped away my arm feeling very strange. I was quite shaken and then went into a little bit of actual shock. I was sick and then decided I should google if you can die an hour after being hit (via a house) by lightening. The inverted was smelling of burning so I didn't have much time to worry as we moved all the flammable items from under it.
The job hunt has slowed, not many I'm interested in on offer and with two further - thank you but no thank you emails I am thinking a little break from looking might do me some good. Only one iron in the fire right now.
School life doesn't stop and on Thursday I helped supervise the Sixth form fashion show. Which went very well and lay night our newest American member of staff had a Thanksgiving celebration.
A and I have got into a flow on her revision and she did very well in her drama assessment this week as well as her art mock exam. The rest next week.
We're looking forward to having BigA home.
