She's here

I had my first swim in the school pool for a very long time at the weekend. It was really refreshing and, as always, I thought, why don't I do this more often.
I had a good morning in the garden too, really pleased with my chilli seedlings and if they are as good as my batch last year we'll get a great harvest. I'm excited that Margaret, you will be here in December to give me some advice on what more I can do with it and it should be really flourishing with the rains by then too.

BigA and I cleared a whole load of things out of the spare room which has made it look big enough for guests. In the week we sorted the mosquito net and moved his desk, all set and looking good.

The Bennet's invited people over for drinks and chats too. Conor played guitar as did his son, just turned 10 and so talented. Then the two of us made a horror movie. Well I provided scary noises and my scary face. He did the rest!

I woke up on Sunday to a sore throat though, caught from my husband! So I did very little on Sunday.
Monday was the unlocking of the next module of the course - a bit more engaging but I remember how terrible I am at long bits of reading. It has plenty of videos too.
It was a great day in that I got a very simple email saying 'The scan where reviewed / Everything stable.' so that was that. A bit of worry for all as fine as it can get. The cold subsided a bit and Tuesday was a fine day.

The highlight of the week - well probably MY MUM ARRIVING. We all got out of school early and got to the airport. I just keep being blown away by her being here. And yet it feels incredibly normal. Home is where your heart is and this week they are just here, in the same place.
She just fits right in.
Yesterday was so lovely, a day at school and then home, seeing my mum and Lynne, sitting reading as I walked into the garden was almost like a dream. We decided on lunch on the khonde and then a swim. BigA invited campus folk over for sundowners which turned into an evening of takeaway and laughs and a little guitar playing. It was truly wonderful to see my mum in my life here.
This morning we're heading off on safari. The tank full and bags almost packed.
