March 2021 - wellbeing

I hope the sense of returning to normal is still on track. Clocks change right?

Love the chaiselong - how do you spell it? Have you or Hillman claimed it?

Yesterday I was a last minute addition to the panel for a new music teacher.
Next week we do maths and so n I'm going by next weekend we have all the teachers we need ready for September.

This half term is racing by and happily this week I felt more 'on it' phew. This is partly because Monday we have our first Life Skills day, it's a big thing I've been working on for months. This is a drop down day, add in all students are off their normal timetable and they spend the day focusing on a topic. This one is based on mental well-being. Staff have been really supportive about it. So if all goes to plan then that will be one of my proudest achievement of this school year.

We also had to do yet another change in exams. Pearson announced a new change to the exam system for international schools. It caused quite a few ripples across students and staff. No wonder. They have not given enough information, as always, I'm guessing there will be more changes again.

I haven't done much in the evenings, but know how lucky we are that we had a lovely curry out last night. The curfew means we were all back by 9 which on a Friday was perfect.

The vaccine is here and being given out. And my colleague Kev gets one next week. Our doctor says she can get me a health passport and I might be able to get a vaccine too. Which feels very exciting, yet I'm not sure how I feel about it is it means someone else doesn't, but it does seem that there is lots to go around. Teachers are next on the list here. Health workers, police and military were first (and senior politicians) now us.

A is navigating the world of teenagedom well, her small group is friends are lovely. One of them is being a bit odd this week, but we've talked about why that might be. I'm sure that will all work out. She is lying next to me right now, both of us on our phones, modern parenting! BIgA has already got up and gone to pay golf.

bigA has been going to physiotherapy and been doing yoga because his back is playing him up a bit. It's partly due to the increase of work he's doing, working at a computer a few hours every day.

The cat has been banned from A's room at night and happily that's working so she is getting more sleep.

That's us this week
