March 2021 - jabs this week
Morning wonderful family,
As to know, despite my dilemma, when the offer came I jumped at it. So now the proud owner of a green card. Asher got done later in the week too. Next one on May.
Monday was the long awaited life skills day, the first of its kind at SAIntS and it was a genuine success. I'm so pleased it went well and delighted by the majority of the feedback. Now planning the next one. It already feels like it was weeks ago.
BigA is away this weekend because they (the campus lads) are saying goodbye to Simon who will try and leave here soon. Not working at the moment as his flights keep being cancelled. He's one of our neighbours, I think I may have mentioned before that he and his wife separated, although they've had to share the same house and bed for months.
So A and me are off for a massage this morning and we've been invited for a meal this evening. Frisbee tomorrow and another goodbye to another family from one of the local primary schools.
A had a great report, which I sent to Mum and Dad, if you want to see it... and seems happy, she composed a rather deep and meaningful song in her music lessons which was played to her class. It is very good.
The cat is ok. No exciting news here on that.
We've happily recruited 5 great new teachers and begun the process of saying hello and planning to get them out here. That's going to be fun!
I've had to have a few HR related meetings with staff this week, a couple I was nervous about, the difficult conversations that you read about in management books. They went well. And one very annoyed parent phone call. She was ok in the end, not exactly happy, but not quite as cross.
Now we are waiting on more news from exam boards to figure out how exams will actually be done. They keep changing them for international centres.
We hope that the vaccine program here has a positive impact and we don't get a third wave after the Easter break.
Hope you're having a lovely week and that you get the clocks sorted. Always feels like you're closer when the clocks move on an hour.
Love you loads and loads
