June - shiner

I hope you're all ok there in a warmer more open Britain. I can't quite picture what that looks like, glad you feel to see a few more people at least. It's been rather cold here still, I'm not sure I'll ever really get used to the idea of winter here in Malawi, hard to explain how it feels so cold when it's a warm day temperature wise. You'll just have to come here and find out.

My week started with a black eye on Sunday at frisbee. The pictures are looking good, I reckon it's still a week away.

This week A was sick enough to take a day off school with a nasty cold which bigA and I both picked up. I can really see how Malawi it's slowly making me realise that I should take a break when I can. I had an afternoon and morning off to just lie and recover. And it seems to have helped. I'm still a bit bunged up but I don't feel bad. Although I've been awake since about 4am.

Sadly bigA has got it more than me, he looks like he's suffering. He'll decide this morning if he'll head off to Lilongwe to take part in a frisbee tournament that he helped organise. He's very poorly so I hope he doesn't. But I totally can see why he's gutted not to go.

I won't know what he decided until later on as I'm currently at the wagner's house. I'm looking after their children this weekend, while they have one last weekend away at a safari. I'm also in with this morning. The new year 6s doing a CATs test. Basically an IQ test that helps us make sure we don't put all the really clever ones in one class.

It's strange too that we only have 4 weeks left of term and A and I began to think about her birthday party this week. She's made a really lovely group of friends and she just wants a small thing. I'm glad about that!

Take care and enjoy the ever increasing freedom,

Love you
