December 2021 - break

I spent a lot of time in the garden last weekend, I really enjoy pottering about and seeing how I can make it more lush. We've had a really good crop of lettuce and peppers and chillies too. I find it ever so satisfying making a salad from the things outside my door. The herbs are doing well too. BigA's grey water system is working really well too.

Saturday I went to the Boarders Christmas dinner, very sweet. Then a cracking set of games of Code Names with the Wagners over the magic of the internet. I was the best player on the night too. Just lovely to feel something of the old days. Made me miss them lots though.

On Sunday we had Hanukkah with a group of lovely people. So good to get together. Then off to Frisbee. It was so so hot I got a cronking headache.

At work and home, lots of talk of what to do this holiday we still haven't really decided and I'm feeling rather glum at the fact that we were due to fly today. Tea and cornflakes with fresh milk will have to wait. To think I could have been having cuddles is very hard to think of. A was very upset this week, I think it really hit her she won't see you all again.

School is now out for the African summer. Such little rain that there is genuine concern that there may be for shortages. Let's hope it starts properly soon. We had a tiny bit yesterday. I'm not sure how much most Malawians really care about the fourth wave, given the real and likely risk they face of they can't farm.

More interviews this week and more adverts going in next... Let people know.

Not sure what we're doing today, I'm going to try not to feel too sad.

Lots of love
