April 2022 - avocado tree

BigA discovered an avocado tree in our garden this week. That's how big it is! So we've had guacamole and smashed avo aka Nigela Lawson. All very fresh..

Something went wrong with our water, last week, there is a certain irony to the rain so heavy that you could shower in it, falling outside your door, but it isn't coming through your taps. I half considered grabbing the shampoo and washing outside, the fact that you can see me from the school field meant I didn't. Then the joy of it's return on Sunday. Straight into the shower and the washing machine on. We have so many 5liter bottles of water saved up for these occasions so it isn't quite as bad as all that. But I really appreciate it when it is back.

School continues to be the bizarre mix of events, never dull. We're carrying out a pastoral review. My job to will be to sum up all the findings in a 3 page document that I hope gets read. Happily on this one, I'm not responsible for getting all the actions done.

I will, however be taking over safeguarding soon. A different creature here, no other services to rely on really. Which makes the big stuff tough to deal with.

And yesterday my yr 12 & 13 class tried to April fool me but it was so obvious what they were up to, before they'd played it all out I had said it... But I wish I'd let them do it all as the plan sounded fun. Blast me and my ever watchful personality!

BigA was in a golf tournament last weekend, he did well considering his skill level. Must be that Christmas present I got him. This week is rugby.

A entered a monologue competition and is going to be running drama club next term. And I know she's done well in the a House stuff but she won't know that until Friday.

The cats are still fun, Kanga getting into various offices at school. Walking home with me from time to time.

We're hosting a birthday party today... It could get messy.

The best news this week is that mum has booked get ticket to get here in October. That's only 7months away. Super exciting.
